Vincent Pargeter the millwright employed by Havering Council has finished installing the two new Sails and also repairing the petticoat on the Cap. The volunteers of the Friends of Upminster Windmill have painted the two remaining sails and new shutters have been made for them. The old Fantail has been dismantled and a new one is in the process of being made by our working party. OPEN DAYS in 2009We will have our OPEN DAYS on the following Saturdays and Sundays: Time of opening 2.00pm to 5.00pm April 4 5 & 18 19 May 2 3 & 9 10 June 6 7 & 20 21 July 4 5 & 18 19 Aug 1 2 & 15 16 Sept 5 6 & 19 20 Oct 3 4 The Friends of Upminster Windmill give visitors FREE conducted tours of this 200-year-old windmill, which has most of its original wooden machinery in place. Please do wear sensible clothing as the stairs are steep. GUIDES URGENTLY WANTED for 2009We have vacancies for several guides on our Open Days.
