RA SHADOW CABINET UNVEILED

Following the announcement of the Conservative Cabinet at Full Council on 26 th May, the Residents' Association have unveiled their Shadow Cabinet line-up for 2010/11.

Leader – Cllr Clarence Barrett

Children & Learning – Cllr Gillian Ford

Community Empowerment – Cllr June Alexander

Community Safety – Cllr John Wood

Environment – Cllr John Mylod

Housing – Cllr Barbara Matthews

Individuals – Cllr Linda Van Den Hende

Towns & Communities – Cllr Linda Hawthorn

Transformation – Cllr Ron Ower

Value – Cllr Ray Morgon (Deputy Leader)

Leader of the Residents' Association, Cllr Clarence Barrett, said: “We have an abundance of proficiency and knowledge within the Residents' Association group and we will apply that collective expertise in thoroughly scrutinising the decisions of this council and will hold this Administration to account in a comprehensive and robust fashion.

“In addition, while the conservative cabinet cost some £350k a year in special councillor allowances, we are happy to undertake the responsibilities of shadow cabinet members at no extra cost or additional allowance .”
