M25 ROAD WIDENING - LATEST

Message from the Highways Agency.

Please be advised the Highways Agency will be carrying out work in the verge beside the M25 between junction 29 and 30. This work is in preparation for the M25 widening between junction 29 and 30, due to start in June 2011.

With effect from 1 June, work will begin on clearing vegetation in small specific areas to sink trial holes to establish what services and materials are present below the surface.

From July/August the Highways Agency will be carrying out the main vegetation clearance. Vegetation is cleared in advance to install newt and reptile fencing in order to undertake ecological trapping. Areas are checked in advance of clearance, and all clearance works will be undertaken with a licensed ecologist present.

We will retain as much of the existing screening as possible, although the M25 will become more visible to some properties for a period. As part of the widening work, re-planting will take place when the road-works are complete.

Some of this work will be carried out overnight. All efforts will be made to minimise noise and other impacts from our work. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
