A LEAGUE OF LITTER FINES |
Havering issued 101 litter fines over the period April 2006 to March 2007. Of the 101 issued, 21 were cancelled, 10 are subject to court action and 70 were paid, raising some £3,600.
The issuing of litter fines is subject to varying degrees of commitment across London. Over the period, Southwark tops the table by issuing 2,809 tickets, collecting £103,435 with no cancelled tickets. Second highest is Tower Hamlets, issuing 1,375 tickets, collecting £47,350 with 117 cancelled tickets.
At the other end of the table is Camden and Harrow who have issued no tickets, whilst Newham have issued three.
