As the site is not far from Havering, concerns have been raised about the potential impact of the eviction on this Borough. Rumours have abound in recent weeks and it may be useful to deal with these as follows: * There have been no discussions between Havering and Basildon Council about re-housing, or making provision in Havering for travellers from Dale Farm and no such discussions are planned. * There is no information suggesting that existing traveller sites in our Borough are planning to expand to absorb any families from Dale Farm. Should anything like this occur, the Council will take the appropriate enforcement action. Nonetheless it is wise to draw up contingency plans in any event. Officers have been asked to be watchful and to take appropriate precautions to prevent trespass on our land.
