CORBETS TEY CREMATORIUM SET FOR £300K+ INVESTMENT

The Council have agreed a £310,000 programme of improvement and refurbishment works at Corbets Tey Crematorium, Upminster.

Among the works will be roof repairs, toilet refurbishment, updated music system, path and drainage repairs, waiting room improvements, tree works, re-bricking the crematoriums and repairs to the brick gates.

There will also be £9,000 available to provide an on-line funeral booking service which will extend access to the service outside normal working hours and at weekends.

Funding will be met from the Council Capital Programme (£80,000) and the Cemeteries and Crematorium Improvement from Income Fund (£230,000), works should be complete by March 2008.
