Plumes of heavy black smoke could be seen for many miles around as the fire took hold at the caravan park at around 8.30am. The A127 from the M25 turn-off to Front Lane was closed for many hours as emergency services attended the scene.

The Cranham Caravan Park in Front Lane, Cranham, suffered serious damage in a blistering inferno on Monday morning. 
This is the second major fire in Upminster within 9 days after Boyd Hall in St Mary's Lane was gutted by flames on Sunday 13th June in asuspected arson attack.
