BLOOD DONOR SESSIONS IN HAVERING

Blood Donor SessionBy giving an hour of your time and some of your blood you will be helping to save a life. Most people can give blood. If you are generally in good health, between the ages of 17 & 59 and weigh at least 7st 12lbs (50 kg) you could start straight away.

Its quick, simple and safe and easy to get started - see 'What happens' below. By giving up to an hour of your time and some of your blood you will be
helping to save a life. The life you help to save could be someone you love

Blood Donation - What Happens?

Step 1
Ring 0845 7 711 711 at anytime or visit www.blood.co.uk . You will then be contacted and invited to a donation session.

Step 2
You will be sent a Donor Health Check form to complete which you bring with you when you attend the donor session.

Step 3
Before coming to the session make sure you have something to eat and drink.

Step 4
A drop of blood will be taken from your finger tip so that your iron level can be checked to ensure that you can give blood.

Step 5
You now donate some of your blood (just under a pint) which will take about ten minutes.

Step 6
After giving blood you have a short rest with something to eat and drink.

Giving blood is simple and safe and only takes about an hour in total. Most people hardly feel a thing apart from the satisfaction of helping to save a life. So why not give it a go?
